Jennifer Irons

EECDS with the support of the British Council Egypt is commissioning Jennifer Irons from the UK, to build a workshop  with Egyptian dancers, aim for building a collaboration between Egyptian dancers and British choreographer, to produce a work in progress creation That can be developed to be a dance project.

workshop will take place at EECDS from 12:00pm till 5:00pm, starting 8th of June till the 21 of June 2014, the workshop will end by an informal presentation on the 20th and 21st of June at EECDS.


Jennifer Irons

is an award-winning dance artist who works internationally in theatre, film, large-scale site-specific and social development projects. Focusing on inclusivity, social and cultural interaction, she collaborates regularly with others from diverse disciplines and backgrounds to create experiential events for audience and performers alike.

She is Director of ironINC physical theatre and ironINC in Africa, which received the 2014 Lisa Ullman Travel Scholarship for her work in Namibia. She is Co-Director of makeAMPLIFY dance and digital media company whose recent project; Apparitions featured 45-metre video mapped dancers in the opening of Londonís Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Jennifer was Assistant Artistic Director of Rugby League World Cup 2013 Opening Ceremonies and tournament involving 2000 dancers and broadcast worldwide.

Jennifer is an artist with dancedigital, East London Dance and Candoco. She was Associate in 2013 Turner-Prize-nominated These Associations by Tino Sehgal at Tate Modern and she won 2011 UK MVA in Best Choreography for Wave Machinesí Keep the Lights On.
